Par défaut, Ubuntu démarre avec l’écran “splash” sans rien afficher des actions qu’il effectue.

Avant Ubuntu Karmic (Grub ancien), il faut éditer /boot/grub/menu.lst pour enlever les quiet.

Depuis Ubuntu Karmic (nouveau Grub) :

sudo vi /etc/default/grub
# enlever "quiet"
sudo update-grub
